The Beecker fair should have taken place in Duisburg in July. However, as the organizer announced on Facebook on May 25th, the event has to be cancelled. The reason for this is that too few showmen have registered for the fair.

Fair in NRW: Rhine fair in Düsseldorf in July

With a mile of about 4.5 kilometers, the Rheinkirmes in Düsseldorf is the largest fair on the Rhine. The Rheinkirmes fair will take place on July 15, 2022 on the festival grounds in Oberkassel. In addition to a dark Altbier, funfair fans can also enjoy delicious dishes such as bratwurst, potato pancakes and fish dishes – as well as international dishes, for example from China or Mexico. The view of the panorama of Düsseldorf’s old town is particularly beautiful. Largest folk festival in NRW: Cranger Kirmes Herne starts on August 4th, 2022

The Cranger fair in Herne, which will take place from August 4th to 14th in 2022, is very popular. Incidentally, the Cranger fair is the largest folk festival in NRW. Over 500 showmen gather at the fairgrounds in Herne directly on the Rhine-Herne Canal, and over 50 rides, shows and shops are on offer.

Every year on the first weekend in September, the fair takes place in the town of Moers on the Lower Rhine. The fair is planned there again in 2022 – it starts on September 2nd. The funfair mile stretches from Friedrich-Ebert-Platz via Homberger Strasse and Steinstrasse to Neumarkt and finally ends at Kastellplatz. Around 500,000 visitors travel there every year to enjoy rides, catering stands, live music and shows.

A merry-go-round, a ghost train, a Ferris wheel and numerous other attractions can be experienced by funfair fans from September 16th to 20th at the “Stunikenmarkt” in Hamm. The fair takes place right in the city center around the Pauluskirche and on the adjacent Santa Monica Square. On Friday at the opening there is also free beer and free rides – on Tuesday there is also a family day. There will also be fireworks on the day.
Fair in NRW 2022: Sim Jü in Werne – the largest folk festival on the Lippe since 1362

The “Sim Jü” fair is the largest folk festival on the Lippe. In 2022, the date is scheduled for October 22-25. Visitors can then stroll from booth to booth and look forward to one or the other ride. Incidentally, the folk festival can look back on a long history: Sim-Jü has been celebrated since market rights were granted in 1362.

The “All Saints’ Fair in Soest” will take place for the 684th time this year from November 2nd to 6th. The folk festival has long since achieved cult status in the Ruhr area. At the end of autumn, there will be a colorful hustle and bustle in the city center of Soest again – on 50,000 square meters there are numerous food stands and rides with up to 400 showmen to discover. Incidentally, the All Saints’ Fair in Soest is the largest old town fair in Europe. The festival is attended by around a million people every year.
