Supervisor of the Tecate Police arrested for alleged protection to the CJNG

The Mexican Navy, in conjunction with the State Security and Investigation Guard (GESI) and the National Guard, dealt the third blow in less than ten days at the Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) structure in Baja California, with the arrest of Yovani “G”, supervisor of the Tecate Municipal Police.

The accused is accused of allegedly providing protection and information to the criminal organization in said municipality, which would have copied him since 2019 when he entered the corporation, according to ministerial investigations.

As a result of the follow-up to lines of investigation and intelligence generation, elements of the Navy, the State Guard and the National Guard arrested Yovani “G”, when completing a search warrant at a home in the town, where he was with two subjects, apparently accomplices, reported federal sources.

At the time of his capture, approximately 90 grams of the drug known as crystal and two ziploc-type bags with a marijuana-like vegetable were seized, approximately 100 grams, a 9-millimeter caliber short weapon and an AR assault rifle. fifteen.

According to the investigations, Yovani “G” received a biweekly payment of between 15 and 25 thousand pesos to facilitate and allow the sale of drugs in various parts of the city, as well as the transfer of different quantities of narcotic drugs, in addition to providing information about federal operations.

Likewise, naval intelligence detected that the Tecate Municipal Police supervisor was the bridge to attract other municipal public servants, who are also on the payroll of organized crime.

According to the available information, this group of municipal police officers have used the municipality’s official units on different occasions to transport weapons, money and drugs from the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel in Baja California.

The people, as well as the objects probably constituting the crime, were placed at the disposal of the competent authority, who will be responsible for defining their legal situation.

The week, the Navy arrested Ismael “G”, “El Chiquilín”, and Flavio “R”, “Basuras”, two of its main CJNG operators in Baja California.
