Political organizations have put aside social distancing measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) and in recent days have returned to the streets in search of votes for the elections that will take place in 72 hours.

Proselytizing has taken hold after President Danilo Medina announced the lifting of the curfew and the national emergency, which they have taken advantage of to come out after the votes, with which they seek to ensure electoral victory.

Both Gonzalo Castillo, Luis Abinader and Leonel Fernández, from the PLD, PRM and Fuerza del Pueblo, respectively, have kept touring the country in caravans, even in the midst of the current health situation.

Meanwhile, Abinader closed his proselytizing activities last night in an act carried out in the Eugenio María de Hostos Park, where he officially received the support of the former mayor of the National District, David Collado.

Collado has been touring several provinces of the country in support of the candidate senators and deputies of the PRM and allies.

While the candidate for the PLD, Gonzalo Castillo, was yesterday in Monte Plata and San Pedro de Macorís and in the next few hours he will announce how his campaign will end.

The candidate for the presidency for the PLD made the tour of Monte Plata and San Pedro de Macorís along with the local candidates of his party in search of collecting votes for the elections on Sunday.

“The people of the Monte Plata province took to the streets to express their support for who will be their next president,” said Gonzalo Castillo’s campaign press officer on his twitter account.

Castillo was last Tuesday in the provinces Hato Mayor, El Seibo, La Altagracia and La Romana.

On his side, Fernández will carry out a caravan march that will move through different points of the National District and will conclude on the boardwalk in the capital starting at two in the afternoon today.

The general coordinator of the People’s Force, Radhamés Jiménez Peña, stated that what is felt around the figure of Fernández is an overwhelming enthusiasm throughout the national territory.

“Tomorrow (today) we will dye the colors of the great alliance to Santo Domingo, the green of the People’s Force, the Reformist Red, the white of the BIS, the yellow of the PQDC, the blue of the Progressive National Force and the Turquoise blue of the PUN. Let there be no doubt that comrade Fernández will qualify for a second electoral round and will become the next President of the Dominican Republic, “said Jiménez.
