A shooting incident may have taken place at a farm on Witterweg in Assen this afternoon. One person has been arrested.

Police received a report at 4.15 p.m. that shots had been fired. Officers searched the area. The police helicopter and sniffer dogs were also deployed.

A spokesperson said there were “indeed indications that shots were fired.”

The police arrested a man and took him to the station. He is being interrogated.

As far as is known, no one was injured. Forensic officers are investigating the area.
