The introduction of the vaccine pass was supported by the French Parliament

French parliament approves vaccine pass bill

Now the bill must be considered by the Constitutional Council of France, and then signed by the president.

In France, the National Assembly (lower house of parliament – ed.) approved a bill to introduce a vaccine pass. About it informs France 24 on Sunday 16 January.

The day before, the document was supported by the Senate (upper house – ed.). Now the bill was supported by 215 deputies of the lower house. 58 parliamentarians voted against the document, seven abstained.

Now the document can be submitted to the Constitutional Council of France, and then the president must sign it. The government expects that the document will come into force around January 20.

The bill on vaccine passes provides for strengthening quarantine measures against coronavirus – the pass becomes mandatory for visiting museums, theaters, restaurants and other public places.

Recall that earlier the WHO said, When will COVID become endemic?. There are countries in the world where the level of vaccination against coronavirus covers only one percent of the total population.

It has also been reported that the COVAX mechanism delivered 1 billion doses of COVID vaccines. The COVAX Global Facility has delivered the first billion doses of coronavirus vaccines to 144 countries.
