The Health Department adjusted the cases of coronavirus COVID-19 in Puerto Rico at 915 after verifying the duplication that was in the contagion tracking system, reported the secretary Lorenzo González Feliciano.

As of this morning, the agency reported that there were a total of 1,298 positives, representing a reduction of 383 cases that, according to Salud, represented tests carried out on the same person. At a press conference, the official indicated that the sum of positive cases to COVID-19 is divided into the result of 736 molecular tests and 179 serological tests.
Last week, the secretary acknowledged that the total number of people infected with the virus was wrong due to problems related to a possible triple count of patients.
As reported earlier by Health, the number of deaths from this disease rises to 64.
González Feliciano indicated that Health personnel and the Institute of Statistics of Puerto Rico (IEPR) were meeting yesterday to establish the interaction between both offices as part of the agreement they reached to refine the data and offer the country a clearer picture of the extent of the disease.
However, the president of the IEPR, Orville Disdier Flores, announced this morning in a radio interview (Radio Isla 1320 AM) that in the statistics there are errors that cannot be corrected.
At a time when the private sector is crying out for a gradual opening of business, GOnzález Feliciano reiterated that he maintains his recommendation to extend the curfew until June, with the possibility of certain flexibilities, since the models project that the contagion curve will flatten that month.
“Potentially, it is going to be a thing that is going to be much longer in our lives,” said the secretary about COVID-19 infections in Puerto Rico.
On the other hand, he reported that four patients have already been treated with plasma, as part of an investigative process in coordination with Mayo Clinic.
Prior to the Health update, the Secretaries of Labor and Economic Development and Trade, Briseida Torres Reyes and Manuel Laboy, respectively, detailed the work their agencies do to, mainly, support the entrepreneurs who have been most affected by the forced closure .
The last government update came on Saturday, when the Health Secretary, Lorenzo González Feliciano, abruptly left the meeting with the press after being questioned about the legitimacy of the data on the coronavirus on the island.
The government update will also take place one day after several members of the coronavirus medical task force that advises Governor Wanda Vázquez, including its director, Dr. Segundo Rodríguez Quilichini, will appear before the Health Commission of the House of Representatives . This agency investigates the failed purchase of rapid tests of COVID-19 for $ 38 million from the company Apex General Contractors.
