Barely reopened, McDonald’s restaurants stormed in Ile-de-France

Unpleasant scenes in full containment? Big Mac, nuggets and McFlurry fans were able to satisfy their appetite on Monday evening. Thirty of the 1,490 establishments of the American brand
McDonald’s, closed since March 15, have indeed reopened in France, for take-out (“drive”), as well as home delivery.

And the return of fast food has not gone unnoticed by many Ile-de-France residents. Mind-boggling scenes of traffic jams and long queues were shared by several Internet users. In Moissy-Cramayel in Seine-et-Marne, motorists lined up for several hours over hundreds of meters. The restaurant had to establish a maximum amount for orders (60 euros) due to the influx of customers, report our colleagues from HuffPost.

The burgers’ call was also too strong at McDo Saint-Gratien in Val-d’Oise. To the point of sorry this surfer (“All that to eat at McDonald’s, it’s not beautiful that”), who immortalized the impressive queue on the Boulevard du Maréchal-Foch:

McDonald’s France announced on April 2 that it would prepare the reopening of some 30 of its restaurants, raising the concern of employees of certain establishments still operating in the Tours region. To do so, the giant of the hamburger had declared to put in place “an operational guide”, “validated by a scientific committee made up of experts in infectiology and virology”, “aiming to significantly strengthen health measures” for staff and customers on drive and home delivery activities.
