Police do not believe it was an accident, but believe the child was not the target of the shooting. “It was a deliberate shooting, but the teen probably wasn’t the target,” Officer Marty Sellers said.
Numerous bullet casings have been found in front of the family’s house. In fact, there were so many cases that officers had to use cards from their wallets to mark the location of the cases.

The boy was in his room playing with his iPad Friday night when he was hit in the head. Tuscaloosa Police Chief Brent Blankley called the shooting a “senseless murder.”
There are a few suspects, Sellers said, urging potential eyewitnesses to contact the police.
