Latest Leak, iPhone 13 Pairs Apple Watch and iPad

Suara.com – This year’s lineup of Apple smartphones, which will likely be named iPhone 13, will display the Always On mode.

This was revealed by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg in its Sunday newsletter, reported by Phonearena, Monday (19/7/2021).

Apple last year expected to bring a high refresh rate to the iPhone, but the idea was scrapped due to battery life issues.

This year, the company is likely to use Samsung’s LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) technology to enable the 120Hz display on the Pro variant.

Apple introduced the technology, called ProMotion, in 2017 with iPad Pro.

The refresh rate will be the number of times the screen is updated with a new image every second and a higher number, resulting in smoother scrolling, smoother gameplay and greater responsiveness.

Running a 120Hz screen constantly can be a waste as it is pointless for static content and that’s where LTPO comes in.

The LTPO screen can dynamically adjust the refresh rate, depending on the content being displayed.

These conditions make it more power efficient than the low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) thin film transistor (TFT) displays the company typically uses.

Since the refresh rate could theoretically reach 1Hz, rumors imply that LTPO will pave the way for the always-on feature in the iPhone 13.

Functionality first came to Apple watches with the Apple Watch Series 5.

Most high-end Android smartphones already have this feature and Apple’s implementation is expected to be similar.

The clock and battery charge will always be visible in always-on mode, and only part of the screen will light up, that too temporarily, to show new notifications.

As is known, reportedly the iPhone 13 will come with an A15 Bionic chip, a smaller notch, improved video recording capabilities, and a longer battery life.

Allegedly, the iPhone 13 will reportedly be launched in September.
