Program that transforms 7 miles of streets into a “public park” for two Saturdays in NYC returns – Telemundo New York (47)

NEW YORK – The program Summer Streets returns to New York City in August for its thirteenth year after last year’s hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The busy streets of Manhattan will be turned into a 7-mile-long park for two Saturdays for people to play, run, walk and bike for the first half of the day.

The event spans from Central Park to the Brooklyn Bridge, along Park Avenue and Lafayette and Center streets. The fun will take place on Saturdays, August 7 and 14, from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

As in previous years, there will be several rest stops along the way that feature activities and refreshments.

Activities for the 2021 event have yet to be announced, but all will be free to New Yorkers and “designed for people of all ages and skill levels to share the streets with respect.”

In years past, the activities of Summer Streets They have included mini golf, an obstacle course and even a zip line.
