Record number of passengers in a day in New York subway

The metro reaches a new record in the number of passengers, for the second day in a row, since the start of the pandemic.

More than 2.4 million users traveled on the trains this Thursday.

Last Wednesday, subway received 2 million 380,000 users.

Before the pandemic, on average more than 5.5 million people used the system every day.

That number dropped to more than 90%, reaching 300,000 daily trips in April of last year.

The MTA continues its disinfection and education campaigns to ensure the system is as safe as possible.

In addition, it houses public immunization centers in Grand Central and Penn Station.
