A banal tweet encouraging the French to drink enough water (and preferably Evian water) in their day. In a normal world, this advertising that looks like an infantilizing instruction would not have really created a scandal. But we haven’t been living in a normal world for some time now. The tweet having been published on the first day of Ramadan, it has sparked reactions on social networks, among some very aggressive Internet users, whom it is not forbidden to suppose to be Islamist. Evian was accused of provoking Muslims, of lacking sensitivity towards them. Panicked, the company posted a second tweet to apologize for its clumsiness and to clarify that it had in no way wanted to provoke anyone with its first message. Yes, Evian disagreed with any provocation!
