Frank Kramer is in a coma. The former football player and former sports commentator Eurosport, Aged 73, became unwell on his own birthday last Friday, after which he was taken to hospital. “Things are going very badly with Frank Kramer,” said Johan Derksen in the final phase of Monday evening Veronica Inside.
“He became unwell on his birthday and was admitted to hospital. He is in a coma ”, Derksen interrupted his colleague Wilfred Genee just before the end credits of the program. “And it was his wish that he would not be resuscitated and that he would not be fed, but just kept in a coma.” Kramer played in his active career for Blauw Wit, FC Amsterdam and FC Volendam. After that he was seen on television as the quizmaster of programs such as Hints and Boggle. He also became known as a sports commentator.
Two years ago chose Eurosport to terminate the contract and Kramer absolutely did not like that. He retaliated by completely ignoring the game during his farewell game, the final of the Major League Soccer. Instead, in the middle of the night, Kramer recited poems, sang songs, and told about his life. Eurosport apologized afterwards for Kramer’s behavior.
Kramer certainly had no regrets, although the absence of an extension was his salvation. “I was at the end of my rope. I don’t know how else I should have said. At one point I only picked up a Telegraaf and started reading readers’ letters in its entirety ”, he told us two years ago The Telegraph. The television channel did not intervene during the broadcast. “Well not. It was the middle of the night. Everyone was asleep, even at Eurosport apparently. I also didn’t hear from anyone in the break. ”
“The trick was that I did not look at what happened in the game throughout the game. I was only wrong with the first goal. Then I watched with a slanted eye as a goal was being scored.” The blood then crept where it couldn’t go. “I accidentally said something about that goal. I am fed up with that “, Kramer told the daily newspaper very seriously at the time.
