The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) received 94 new corona infections in the past 24 hours from the province of Groningen. This is evident from the figures on Saturday afternoon from the RIVM. One person has again been reported dead as a result of the corona virus.
In the municipality of Groningen, 37 people were tested positive. In the other municipalities, infections were found in Stadskanaal (12), Midden-Groningen (10), Westerkwartier (8), Veendam and Het Hogeland (6), Delfzijl and Oldambt (4), Westerwolde and Appingedam (3), Pekela (1) ). No new infections were found in the municipality of Loppersum.
One person from the municipality of Stadskanaal has died, according to the figures and one person from the municipality of Appingedam was admitted to hospital.
Rural
The number of positive corona tests has fallen below 10,000 again. Between Friday morning and Saturday morning, 9,839 new corona cases were registered at the RIVM. Yesterday, more than 11,000 positive corona tests were reported for the first time in 24 hours, but according to the RIVM, that high figure was due to a disruption on Wednesday.
The number of corona patients in intensive care has increased by 17 compared to Friday, according to figures from the National Coordination Center for Patient Dispersion (LCPS) on Saturday. IC staff now care for 584 patients with Covid-19.
The number of corona patients on nursing wards has increased by 46 to 1,864 patients. All in all, 2,448 Dutch Covid-19 patients are now in the hospital. Two of the patients are in the hospital in Münster, Germany, on the ic.
In addition to patients with Covd-19, there are another 452 people on the ic with other conditions. The total IC occupancy is therefore 1036 (of which the two in Germany), 22 more than on Friday.
In the past 24 hours, 38 patients have been moved to hospitals in other parts of the country. Among them were three corona patients.
