Toyota Egypt has announced a reduction in the prices of all categories of its new Toyota Corolla sedan by rates ranging from 10 to 19 thousand pounds.
The Japanese brand agent’s announcement in Egypt coincides with the start of applying the total exemption for cars coming from Turkey to become “zero customs”, in implementation of the free trade agreement between Egypt and Turkey.
According to the new prices, the price of the first category equipped with a manual transmission decreased to 290 thousand pounds instead of 304 thousand, while the second category decreased by 10 thousand pounds, thus its price becomes 315 thousand pounds for the second category, while the third category decreased by 12 thousand pounds, bringing the price to 350 alpha.
The fourth class of the car got the highest reduction rate, as its new official price became 400 thousand pounds compared to 419 thousand pounds. Likewise, the fifth highest-equipped category among the Corolla categories decreased 19 thousand pounds to be sold at 450 thousand pounds instead of 469 thousand pounds.
The prices of 2019 Toyota Corolla Hybrid, equipped with two petrol and electric engines, are stable in two categories of equipment, with the first class price reaching 650,000 EGP and 700,000 EGP for the higher-equipped class.
It is expected, according to experts, that the sedan models that fall within that price segment will face strong competition and strong pressure after applying the total exemption to Toyota Corla from Turkey, which has entered the local market without customs.
