Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran inaugurated 28 police chiefs in the jurisdiction Polda Metro Jaya today. It was recorded that there were eight female police officers (Polwan) who were also appointed as police chiefs.
“Currently, of the 28 police chiefs I inaugurated, eight of them are female police officers. This is a form of my commitment to gender equality and this is my consistency in continuing to carry out reforms within the Polda Metro Jaya,” said Fadil at the BPMJ building for Polda Metro Jaya. , Jakarta, Tuesday (24/5/2022).
Fadil said that the eight policewomen he inaugurated as police chiefs today were not just a matter of creating gender equality. He said that policewomen can also become leaders.
“For me, women can also lead. There are several criteria that make me continue to build commitment in appointing female police officers to become police chiefs,” explained Fadil.
“It is not unmitigated that I give the position of female police chief in places that have never been held by women, such as in Menteng, Penjaringan, and several other police stations that have been held by male police officers,” he continued.
Fadil also asked the policewomen who had been appointed as police chiefs to work optimally. She emphasized that sensitivity and firmness as a woman can be done while serving as a police chief.
“I ask that your strengths as a mother are used in approaching crimes that involve crime. I’m sure the policewomen are better able to distinguish between social diseases, juvenile delinquency, and criminal groups,” said Fadil.
Furthermore, Fadil re-emphasized the position of Kapolsek to eight Polwan today as an encouragement that women can become leaders.
“I ask my fellow female police officers, whom I inaugurated as police chief, to prove to all of you that you can lead. That you can excel, that you can unravel urban crime because you have the instincts of a mother in your nature,” he said.
“But on the other hand you are able to act as a guard of order and law enforcement because of your position as a police chief,” continued Fadil.

-Head of the Tajur Halang Police is held by Iptu Tamar Bekti Widiasih Jalmi
