73-year-old farmer falls 30 meters while doing woodwork and is seriously injured
On Friday shortly before noon, an industrial accident occurred in the Unterschwendi area, in a forest above the Simmitobel on Grabserberg. A 73-year-old farmer fell around 30 meters down a steep slope. He was seriously injured. Rega flew him to the hospital.
The victim remained lying next to the Simmi stream bed.

A 73-year-old farmer was doing forestry work in a forest above the Simmitobel together with a 44-year-old man. As the police report states, the 73-year-old man fell around 30 meters towards Simmitobel for reasons unknown. There he came to lie next to the Simmi stream bed. He was seriously injured.
Rega flew him to the hospital. In addition to Rega, a patrol and the Alpine task force of the St.Gallen cantonal police were also deployed. (cap/chs)
