Which target audience?

The 7e forum jobs d’été is aimed at candidates aged 17 to 30. Students, young people in retraining or in the process of integration, graduates or not, are targeted. The City of Thionville, its employment and youth services carry the event with the support of several partners, like the Local Mission of North Moselle, the Afpa, Pôle emploi, the center Le Lierre. The Second Chance School is also involved: students will take care of the logistics and welcome the participants.

The objective is threefold: to gain access to a first professional experience, to finance one’s studies or personal projects, to diversify one’s profile.

What jobs are offered?

The forum will offer 700 seasonal jobs, to be filled from March to October for various durations, with 45 companies. Twenty of them will be present and will even be able to meet the applicants on site.

This edition displays as many offers as last year but it brings together fewer, more local employers, to overcome any mobility difficulties. The companies selected are located between Luxembourg and the Orne Valley. Many areas are to be discovered: maintenance, supermarkets, logistics, catering, personal assistance, construction, industry, entertainment, agriculture…

What specificities?

This forum does not just list seasonal jobs to be filled quickly. An information and advice point will be at the entrance to better guide visitors, beyond looking for a job. Workshops for advice, assistance in writing CVs and cover letters will be available. “It’s about putting young people in the best possible conditions”, summarizes the first deputy mayor in charge of youth, Véronique Schmit.

The offers will be online, on the town hall’s website, the next day. Finally, for the best organized candidates, a preparation session will be held on Wednesday March 22, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Afpa in Thionville-Yutz, to anticipate meetings with companies on the day of the forum.

Salle du Casino, Cour des Capucins, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., free entry.
