6 Signs of High Cholesterol Leads to Stroke and Heart Attack

JAKARTA – There are some signs of high cholesterol which leads to stroke and heart attack . Therefore, it is important for everyone to know these signs.

If cholesterol is too high then clogs the blood vessels, then oxygen and nutrients in the blood will not be able to reach the heart, causing a heart attack.

Meanwhile, blood flow to the brain is also cut off due to high cholesterol, causing a stroke. Before one of these tragic events occurs, there are warning signs of atherosclerosis.

Antherosclerosis is a process when too much fatty substance such as cholesterol coats the walls of blood vessels and causes blood vessels to narrow.

Reporting from Express, Monday (28/6) the British Heart Foundation (BHF) lists six warning signs of this condition.

Among these are chest pain, pain in one of the limbs, where there may be a blocked artery. Difficulty breathing, fatigue, confusion due to blood not flowing to the brain and weak muscles.

“Atherosclerosis is common. It’s more common in people over the age of 65 and those with a family history of heart or circulatory disease,” says BHF.

Currently, there is no treatment that can stop or reverse atherosclerosis. However, medications and lifestyle interventions can slow its progression and lower the risk of a heart attack or stroke.
