There are several ways of treating chemical waste, namely physically, chemically, and biologically.

Liquid waste treatment is carried out so that the discharged waste does not contaminate drinking water sources and does not interfere with the life of flora and fauna in the water. The principle of physical sewage treatment is to remove suspended solids in water.

This method is the easiest and cheapest method. However, usually this method is only used as a preliminary process or screening because this process can only filter particles with a larger size.

Sedimentation is a way of separating solid particles suspended in water. These solids are particles that have a density higher than the density of water. Process sedimentation This utilizes the force of gravity on the solution being treated. This particle deposit is usually in the form of mud which will be separated into waterways.

3. Flotation

This method is used to separate solid or liquid particles whose density is lighter than the water. Separation is done by inserting gas bubbles into the liquid waste. The bubbles will stick to the particles and push them to the surface. An example of a particle that can be used with this process is an oil-in-water suspension.

After carrying out the physical process, the wastewater treatment process can be continued with chemical and biological treatment, if needed.
