Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Health issued a new definition of suspected cases of emerging coronavirus.
According to the new definition, the patient is considered a suspect in two cases: the first is the combination of any elements of exposure in epidemiological history with any of the elements of clinical symptoms, and the second is the meeting of the three clinical symptoms.
Elements of epidemiological history include:
1- A history from traveling the patient to / or residing in the communities or countries where confirmed cases of HIV infection have been reported, within 14 days before symptoms appear.
2- Mixtures with HIV positive people within 14 days before symptoms appear.
3- Mixtures with patients suffering from fever or respiratory symptoms from societies with confirmed cases of the virus, reported within 14 days before the onset of the disease.
Elements of clinical symptoms:
1- Fever (38 ° C temperature) and / or respiratory symptoms (coughing or shortness of breath).
2- Chest x-ray properties
3- White blood cells were normal or low, with lymphocytes low.
An official source at the Ministry of Health told Masrawy that the new definition of suspected cases of infection with the Corona virus has been activated since Saturday, and distributed it to hospitals.
The last definition issued by the Central Department of Preventive Affairs of the Ministry of Health to any new infection with the Corona virus was on March 8, 2020.
