The Kripo is investigating and looking for a previously unknown money collector. On Thursday a 59-year-old man was called in Krnach (Lkr. Wrzburg) by an alleged police officer. This is reported by the police headquarters in a press release. The alleged police officer said that a corrupt bank employee wanted to transfer money from the 59-year-old’s bank account abroad. To secure his property, the Krnacher should withdraw the money and deposit it in front of his house. There it would be picked up by the police. Fearing for his savings, the 59-year-old deposited a five-digit amount of cash in a bag in front of his house, as he was told to do. He observed the alleged police officers picking up the money around 6.15 p.m. and subsequently contacted the operations center of the Lower Franconia police headquarters to inquire about the arrest of the bank employee. Only then did the 59-year-old realize that he had fallen for a fraud. After the stranger had taken the bag, he got into a silver-brown Mercedes with a second male person and drove away. The money collector is described as follows: 1.60 meters tall, 80 to 85 kilograms, short black hair, wearing a black jacket with a gray hood.
