The Balkan Cities Cooperation Platform of Edirne organize Iftar program for 5 thousand people at Selimie Square.
It was attended by the Regional Governor of the Plovdiv region, Eng. Dimitrov, the Governor of Tekirdag Recep Soitürk, the Consul General of Croatia in Istanbul Ivana Zerec, the Romanian Consul General in Istanbul Madalina Dinu, North Macedonia Consul General in Istanbul Idris Fazlioski and other official guests.
The governor of Edirne, Mr. Yunus Sezer, in his speech during the program, shared that people from every religion, every nation, every culture were gathered on this day. “This unity is a reflection of the richness of the Balkan geography. Our civilization is a civilization that presents to the world the experience of living together in peace with people who have very different characteristics, although their beliefs, cultures and colors are different,” commented the regional governor of Edirne.
He added that everyone together experienced the joy of Iftar and Ramadan is the month of unity, solidarity and cooperation. Stating that Islamic civilization is a civilization of love, respect and loyalty.
Iftar programs are organized in 9 cities in Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Greece.
