5 Habits That Can Harm Men’s Intimate Life: Expert Advice

Candidate of Medical Sciences, endourologist, urologist-oncologist at the Hadassah Clinic branch in Skolkovo Valentin Rubanov spoke about what habits can harm intimate life, Sports.kz reports with reference to “Championship”.

Abstinence

Regular emptying of the vas deferens is an important component of men’s health. This process is controlled by a number of natural mechanisms, including nocturnal emissions (involuntary ejaculation).

That is, with prolonged abstinence and accumulation of ejaculate, or sperm, in the body, its involuntary emptying occurs. Nature has provided the body with the constant production of both sperm and prostate secretion, which is part of the ejaculate.

With prolonged abstinence, stagnation occurs. In most cases, they are accompanied by discomfort and a feeling of fullness in the groin, scrotum and perineum. After ejaculation, a man usually feels significant relief and the disappearance of unpleasant symptoms.

According to Valentin Rubanov, for good health, men should ejaculate two to three times a week. In the absence of a regular sexual partner, you can resort to masturbation.

Evacuation can be initiated by self-stimulation, which does not contradict normal physiology.

Hypothermia

Hypothermia can cause deterioration in men’s health. When exposed to cold, unpleasant symptoms appear, including frequent urination, discomfort in the perineal area, a strong urge to urinate, and difficulty urinating. They can also occur after contrast procedures in a bath or shower.

Hypothermia is known to affect the overall immune system, which controls most viruses and bacteria. Therefore, after exposure to cold, herpes infections often worsen, including genital herpes, as well as chronic infections of the vas deferens, in particular prostatitis.

Today, modern urology effectively copes with the treatment of chronic prostatitis of a bacterial nature, as well as recurrent herpes. Together with an infectious disease specialist, it is possible to achieve impressive results in the treatment of these diseases.

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)

Modern medicine makes it possible to effectively combat almost all sexually transmitted infections, including gonorrhea, chlamydia, ureaplasma, and mycoplasma.

The main danger for people from the point of view of STDs is not urethritis (that is, an inflammatory process in the urethra), but viruses, which can affect not only the quality of life, but also its duration. We are talking about the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B and C. These infections pose a truly serious threat to men.

There is no contraception yet that is 100% effective, other than being faithful to a regular sexual partner.

Obesity

More people around the world die from obesity than from hunger. Excess weight leads to serious health problems. Almost all organs are negatively affected, including the male genital organs and the reproductive system.

The fact is that subcutaneous adipose tissue is a hormone-producing organ, which mainly produces hormones belonging to the group of female genitals. They, in turn, resist the action of male sex hormones, in particular testosterone.

This leads to suppressed libido, decreased muscle mass, poor sleep quality and increased levels of depression. In addition, erectile function deteriorates and spermatogenesis is disrupted, which can lead to problems with spontaneous conception of a child.

Smoking

Modern research confirms that tobacco smoking is one of the two most common factors contributing to the development of cancer in the urinary system. Particularly vulnerable organs in this case are the kidneys, ureter and bladder.

However, in addition to smoking, there is a second important factor that also affects the development of malignant tumors in the urinary system. This is exposure to fumes and chemicals used in industry.

Other reasons

In addition to the above factors, men’s health is affected by a number of physiological changes that occur with age. Diseases such as prostate adenoma, prostate cancer, deterioration in erection quality, and decreased testosterone levels come to the fore.

There is not yet a single reliably effective prevention that would help slow down or reduce the risks of all these age-related changes.

First of all, the speed and severity of age-related changes are determined by genetic predisposition. That is why modern urology focuses on the early detection of such changes with subsequent effective treatment or correction.

Also, genetic mutations that are associated with the development of cancer can have a serious impact on a man’s health. As Valentin Rubanov notes, there is no effective prevention of congenital and acquired mutations in genes, but doctors have all the possibilities for their early and timely detection, which will prevent cancer in the early stages.
