The epidemic continues to progress in our region with 76 new confirmed cases identified by Public Health France on the evening of April 18, bringing the total to 3,973 confirmed cases in the region since the start of the epidemic (Note: a duplicate was removed for the day of April 16 (150 cases instead of 151 cases.) The ARS assessment does not include all the untested Covid-19 people identified by city medicine.
The detailed balance sheet at the hospital
- 825 people are currently hospitalized (+ 13 compared to the previous day)
- 196 people are currently in intensive care or intensive care (+ 3 compared to the previous day)
- 1,061 people have left the hospital cured since the start of the epidemic (+ 14 compared to the previous day)
Since the beginning of the epidemic, New Aquitaine deplores 247 deaths among hospitalized people including six registered in the last 24 hours.
In the Ehpad
This Sunday morning, 2 89 Ehpad, that is to say 5 additional establishments compared to the previous day – out of the 898 in Nouvelle-Aquitaine (or 32.2%) declared one or more possible or confirmed cases of Covid- 19 among residents or staff.
Among these reports, 1,157 residents were recorded as confirmed or possible cases (suspects presenting with symptoms) Covid-19 (+ 20 compared to the previous day),
In the number of these possible or confirmed cases, 83 died within the establishments (identical to the day before) and 47 died in the hospital (+ 3 compared to the day before, these deaths are included in the indicator “number of deaths among hospitalized people ”).
