32 thousand injuries .. An Arab country faces a significant increase in Corona injuries

The Saudi Ministry of Health announced on Sunday that the number of new cases of Corona virus in the country exceeded 100,000, and the largest number of deaths were recorded in one day.

The ministry said in a statement that it had registered 3,045 new cases of Covid-19, for a total of 101,914 cases, after the country had registered 3121 cases on Saturday.

The ministry added that it recorded 36 deaths on Sunday, bringing the total number of deaths in the Kingdom to 712 people.

The ministry announced the recovery of 1026 new cases, bringing the number of people recovering to more than 72 thousand cases.

The ministry pointed out that the total of active cases is about 28 thousand cases, while currently the number of critical cases is 1564 cases.

The Kingdom, which recorded the largest number of HIV infections in the Gulf region, had started to gradually reduce the strict curfew, and the worshipers performed the first Friday prayer after lifting the suspension of Friday and Friday prayers, with the application of precautionary measures.

However, the authorities announced on Friday to re-tighten the health precautions in the city of Jeddah for a period of 15 days starting from Saturday, which includes a curfew from three o’clock in the local time until six o’clock in the morning, and the suspension of the performance of prayers in mosques and the prevention of attendance to workplaces.

The authorities are currently monitoring the continuous increase in the number of cases in the city of Riyadh “in preparation for taking the appropriate action in the event of a continuation of the rise,” according to a statement last Friday.

And on Sunday, the number of cases recorded by the Ministry of Health in Riyadh was 717, followed by Makkah with 623 injuries, then Jeddah 351.

The Saudi authorities suspended the Umrah performance since March indefinitely, also asking Muslims to postpone their preparations to perform the Hajj temporarily for fear of the spread of Covid-19. The Ministry of Interior confirmed that this comment will remain in force.

But the Saudi authorities have yet to announce whether they will press ahead with plans to organize the hajj this year, which is supposed to take place at the end of July.

About 2.5 million people from all over the world participated in the Hajj season last year.

The Hajj is a major source of income for the oil-rich kingdom, but organizing the Hajj on time may make it a major source of infection when the pilgrims come to Mecca.
