2024 World Politics: Anticipating the USA Presidential Election Rematch between Donald Trump and Joe Biden

Every year, there are turning points in world politics that few could have predicted. For example, half a year ago, we did not expect that the terrorist group “Hamas” would invade Israel, causing the biggest escalation of the military conflict in the region in the last ten years. Therefore, looking ahead to the new year, we realize that there are quite a lot of unknowns. However, the 2024 world political calendar has already marked many such events that we can more or less predict.

First of all, the year 2024 will be a great test for democracy – more people of the world will go to the polls this year than ever before in history. National elections are planned in more than 70 countries with a total population of more than 4.2 billion, or more than half of the world’s population. In addition, many of them are expected to be fierce battles that can reverberate strongly in the interconnected world beyond.

The most talked about election this year will definitely take place in the USA, where it is predicted a rematch between Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Although the US presidential election will officially take place on November 5, various milestones are expected throughout the year, which will be followed by political analysts from all over the world. Currently, public opinion polls in the US show equally good chances of winning for both the Democratic and Republican candidates.

On March 4, the court will begin hearing the charges against Trump for interfering in the previous 2020 presidential election. Although the charges do not legally prevent Trump from becoming the Republican Party’s official presidential nominee, many potential voters will be watching the trial and it could affect the outcome of the election.
