Drawing Qualification Asian Cup U-20 2023 completed on Tuesday (24/5). The result, Indonesian National team have to compete with Vietnam in one group.
Indonesia, which is the host of the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification, is in Group F with Vietnam, Hong Kong and Timor Leste.
The U-19 Indonesian National Team was placed in pot 1 aka the seeded pot because it qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2018 U-19 Asian Cup. Unfortunately, the 2020 U-19 Asian Cup was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
A total of 44 teams registered in the qualifying round were divided into 10 groups. Four groups contain five teams, while the other two groups consist of only four teams.
A total of 10 group winners will qualify for the finals of the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup which will be held in Uzbekistan. The other six teams will be determined by the best runner-up route.
If Uzbekistan wins the status of group winner or best runner-up in the qualifying round, then the best runner-up quota will be open to six teams.
The plan is that the entire series of Group F matches for the U-20 2023 Asian Cup Qualification will be held in Jakarta on September 14-18, 2022.
