20 minutes – “He couldn’t bear the break”

The lifeless bodies of a man and two toddlers were found on Sunday in an apartment in Eschenz (TG). He is a father and two children. The neighborhood is devastated.

A drama rocked the small Thurgovian town of Eschenz on Sunday afternoon. Alerted, the emergency services discovered the bodies of a 38-year-old man and two children aged 4 and 7 years in an apartment in the commune. The police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office assume homicide. The exact circumstances have not yet been established. The spokesman for the police, Matthias Graf, specifies that for the moment nothing proves the intervention of a fourth person.

Every other weekend with their father

Research by our colleagues in “20 Minuten” shows that the 30-something was the father of two children. When contacted, the mother of the deceased toddlers explains that her ex-husband came to pick up the little ones on Friday. “They were at his home every other weekend,” she says. And to add: “My ex was not doing well psychically. He couldn’t bear the break. ”

He lived alone

A resident of the neighborhood in which the drama took place says for her part that the entire neighborhood is “devastated”. “You don’t expect something like this to happen here.” According to her, the little ones were often with their father, who lived alone in the apartment in question.
