20 million euros should be enough as Tottenham aim to beat two clubs in a key signing – EzAnime.net

Tottenham is one of the main candidates for the signing of Turkish goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir, according to a report.

The Spurs must consider their options in goal for next season. Captain Hugo Lloris is about to enter the final year of his contract and has been linked to a reunion with Mauricio Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain. If it leaves, they will need to find a suitable replacement.

Lloris’ gloves will be difficult to fill after the service she has given the club. But it might be time for them to move forward with a longer-term option.

According to NTV Spor, one option could be Cakir, who has impressed in recent years with Trabzonspor.

Cakir went through the lower ranks of the Super Lig team and has been their first choice since the 2018-19 season. He has grown in the position and has since been international five times with Turkey.

It has been linked with a move to the Premier League for quite some time. Liverpool is often mentioned as potential suitors, for example.

Now that you are 25, it may be the right time to take the next step in your career. He has many years ahead of him, but he will be willing to spend the best on as big a stage as possible.

As such, Tottenham could be an ideal destination. The moment seems to suit all parties.

Trabzonspor do not want to let their key man, who still has a contract until 2024, go for a small sum. NTV says it will demand at least 20 million euros, with a 25% sale clause.

The club has promised to sell Cakir to the highest bidder, so Tottenham will have to fend off the competition to get their man. The report also adds that Inter Milan and Lille are interested.

Samir Handanovic, Inter’s first choice, is now 36 years old with a contract that expires in 2022. As for Lille, Mike Maignan is likely to leave this summer as he too has a year left on his contract.

With all three competitors for Cakir’s signature on a similar boat, it will be interesting to see which one puts the best offer on the table.

Lloris could still sign a new agreement

Interestingly, however, there have been reports that Lloris could make a surprise decision by extending his contract with Tottenham.

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano stated last month that Tottenham had yet to make a decision on the 34-year-old’s future.

French giants PSG and Lloris’ former club Nice are potential destinations for the veteran closer.

However, Football Insider claims that Lloris is ready to end doubts about his future and stay with the club.

The Frenchman is said to have held crucial talks with Tottenham president Daniel Levy and expressed his willingness to continue at the club.

Lloris could put pencil on paper on a new contract that will extend his time at the club to more than a decade and potentially longer.

But the Spurs could still be looking for a longer-term solution, especially with backup option Joe Hart who will also be out of contract in 2022.
