Anthony Ginting revealed the reasons for failing to reach the semifinals Malaysian Open 2023 after losing 14-21, 16-21 to Kanta Tsuneyama at Axiata Arena, Friday (13/1).
Ginting’s steps at the 2023 Malaysia Open were stopped in the quarter-finals. The fifth seed received fierce resistance from Tsuneyama.

“I did get ahead in the second game at 13-10. I actually started to perform well again. When my opponent attacked, I actually preferred it and was able to get points. However, after that, the opponent also changed his strategy again and my playing pattern disappeared. said Ginting.
As a result of the changing opponent’s game, Ginting became impatient. This was another factor in Ginting’s defeat at the 2023 Malaysia Open.
“I was even lured to attack. I was in a hurry. Even though I had struggled hard by continuing to look for the right strategy, the match also continued and the opponent was already far superior,” said Ginting.
Even though he lost, Ginting was still happy because he was able to implement the game strategy he wanted from the first round all the way to the quarter-finals.
“This result is still a good start and hopefully in the future I can be even better,” said Ginting.
