ANNOUNCEMENTS

Police arrested a 16-year-old suspect this afternoon in connection with an earlier shooting in southeast Amsterdam. A 17-year-old boy died there last Friday shot.

Police received a report of a shooting at Haardstee at around 10.30pm that evening. The 17-year-old victim was seriously injured. Paramedics tried to revive the boy at the scene, but were unsuccessful. The detective then launched a thorough investigation.

Two people had previously been arrested, but it turned out they had nothing to do with the shooting. Now they are being heard as witnesses. After the arrests, another suspect entered the scene, the 16-year-old from Amsterdam.

He is currently under full restrictions which means he can only have contact with his lawyer. For this reason, the police do not want to make further announcements about the arrest.
