– The traffic accident that happened at Vegårshei has now had a tragic outcome. It has now been confirmed that the person who suffered life-threatening injuries died on Friday evening at Ullevål Hospital in Oslo, says police station chief in Holt in Agder police district, Odd Holum.
The deceased is a 15-year-old boy, writes the police in their press release.
All three people in the car were under 18 years of age.
The other two were discharged from the hospital on Friday.
The police are investigating the incident and have started questioning witnesses and those involved.
Ended up in the ditch
On Thursday at 18.40 the police received a report that a lone car had driven off the road on Heiveien in Vegårshei.
The car ended up in the ditch and was partially on the roof.
The accident was then described as serious.
A heavy evening
The mayor of Vegårshei, Kjetil Torp, was present at the municipality’s assembly hall late last night when he received the message.
– I got a phone call with a message while I was at the youth club. Then we called the young people together and had a quiet time up there.
That’s what Torp says to NRK.
– It was a difficult evening for many, but it was still good to see that many cared about each other and took care of each other. I saw a lot of good friendship, which was great to experience in such a tragic situation, he says.
