Russia’s 14-year-old Camilla Wariewa, who has been able to convert to seniors since the 2010 Beijing Olympics season, scored an astonishingly high score.
Although not officially recognized by the International Skating Union (ISU), he took the lead with 88.71 points. Although it is not possible to make a simple comparison, it surpassed the official record of 85.45 points in the SP world (19th Grand Prix Final, Kostornaya), and the talent of the junior showed its presence again.
Wariewa succeeded in triple axel (three and a half jumps) with both hands raised at the beginning. He led a high score of 3.20 points, and also decided on a 3-turn flip and a continuous 3-turn Lutz-Toe loop in the latter half of the performance. All three spins and steps are at the highest level 4. The talent of coach Eteri Tutberidze, who has produced many top players in recent years, such as Zagitova of the 18th Pyeongchang Olympics gold medal, showed his talent.
This tournament is the final selection for the Russian national team for the World Curling Championships (March, Stockholm). Wariewa is not eligible to participate, but will be 15 years old on April 26th and will be able to convert to seniors next season. The free will be held on the 28th.
The rankings of the main players in the women’s SP are as follows.
Camilla Wariewa (14) 88.71 points
Dalia Usachova (14) 79.12 points
Elizaveta Tuktamisheva (24) 77.74 points
Alena Kostornaia (17) 70.14 points
