In a new health balance, the Seremi de Salud Alejandro García reported 128 new cases of Covid-19 in the Coquimbo region.
According to the Health Authority, the region reaches 6,551 accumulated cases, of which 1,116 are active. Regarding the detail of active cases by commune, he reported that “47 correspond to La Serena, 60 to Coquimbo, 01 to Andacollo, 04 to La Higuera, 01 to Vicuña, 02 to Illapel, 4 from Salamanca, 03 to Ovalle, 01 of another region and 5 cases without notification in the Epivigila system ”.
Likewise, Seremi reiterated the call to the population to schedule their quarantine outings and visit the Virtual Police Station. “During this Sunday the audits will continue at different points of the conurbation, so it is important that people can have their respective permits.” He pointed.
Finally, the Chief of National Defense in the Coquimbo region, General Pablo Onetto, highlighted the work of monitoring the quarantine measures “from July 31 at 10:00 p.m. until August 1, 38,691 people have been supervised, with a total of 40 people detained. ”
127 people hospitalized for Covid-19
The Assistant Director of Care Management of the Coquimbo Health Service, Dr. Alejandra Álvarez, gave the balance of the Care Network, noting that the region currently has 1,186 total beds and a general occupancy of 67%. “Today we have 381 beds available, of which 30 belong to the Critical Patients Unit: 24 from the Intensive Care Unit and 6 from the Intermediate Treatment Unit,” he said.
The authority also detailed the number of people who are hospitalized by Covid-19. “Today we have 745 people hospitalized in the region, of which 127 remain hospitalized by Covid-19: 35 at the Hospital de La Serena, 39 at the Hospital de Coquimbo, 8 at the Hospital de Ovalle, 3 at the Hospital de Los Vilos, 34 at the Contingency Hospital, 2 at the Vicuña Hospital, 1 at the Illapel Hospital and 5 at the Red Salud Elqui clinic. Of these 127 people, 36 are in mechanical ventilation, “he added.
Finally, regarding health officials affected by the virus, the Assistant Director of Healthcare Management specified that 45 workers from the 10 hospitals in the region and the Health Service have tested positive for the virus, and 151 are in quarantine . While in Primary Health Care, 24 people are positive and 36 are in preventive quarantine.
