The A27 between Breda and Gorinchem was closed in both directions at about half past twelve at the Hooipolder junction due to a police action. A police spokesman said three suspects who were in a car together have been arrested. This came after a tip had come from another region that the occupants of the car may have been in possession of a firearm that had threatened someone. Where exactly is still unclear.

The spokesman was unable to say at around 12:30 p.m. whether a firearm was found in the car. The spokesperson was unable to say anything about the identities of the three arrested suspects around that time. The suspects were arrested in an action that the police call ‘approach technique for dangerous suspects’ (BTGV). The highway was closed for the action.
