A number of points leading to the Horse Statue and Monas area were closed ahead of the 212 Reunion today. The closing of a number of points is no exception for TransJakarta which will be diverted to the Horse Statue and Monas.
“We will close all points leading to the Horse Statue and Monas areas,” said Director of Traffic and Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo in the Kebon Sirih area, Central Jakarta, Thursday (2/12/2021).
“There are eleven points, including the first in Kebon Sirih, Budi Kemuliaan, Harmoni, museums, Veterans III, Veterans III, next to the US Embassy, in front of Pertamina,” he added.
Sambodo said all types of vehicles, including TransJakarta, could not pass through the restricted area until the evening at 21.00 WIB.
“This area is a limited area and cannot be passed by any vehicle. We are diverting the flow of TransJakarta, this closure is without exception, all are subject to closure,” said Sambodo.
Sambodo said this was done as an anticipation to prevent the entry of the Reunion 212 crowd into the Horse Statue and Monas area.
“To anticipate the existence of a group of people who are still determined to carry out the 212 Reunion, even though the Polda Metro Jaya has issued a decision not to allow the implementation.” he concluded.
The following roads are closed and their current diversions are as follows:
– Vehicles from Jl MH Tamrin towards the Horse Statue Roundabout are turned left or right at the Kebon Sirih intersection.
– Vehicles from Jalan Abdul Muis are straightened, so they can’t go to harmony.
– Vehicles from the Tugu Tani direction to Jalan Merdeka Selatan are directed towards the Cathedral or towards the Istiqlal Mosque.
– Vehicles from Harmoni to the Palace turn left onto Jl Ir H Juanda
– Vehicles from the direction of Tomang are straightened or turned left towards Kua City.
– Jl Veteran I-III is closed.
