100 days war in Ukraine

If the attacks on schools in Ukraine continue, children like Mariia* will continue to bear the brunt of the war. Although education is particularly important for children and parents in crisis situations, it is often the first government service to be suspended – and one of the last to be resumed.

Education must be protected

Save the Children is supporting the Ukrainian authorities to improve the country’s online learning system so that children like Mariia* can continue to have access to digital education. But those who are on the run or live in areas where there is fighting or where the internet is bad have no chance of learning.

The children’s rights organization also demands that attacks on schools be stopped and that educational institutions are not used for military purposes. Instead, there is an urgent need for schools to be protected to provide a safe place for children to learn and play.
