10 Planets Most Like Earth: List of Earth-like Planets Discovered by Scientists

Jakarta

So far scientists have discovered more than 4,000 exoplanets. Some of them have been identified and some have similarities to planet Earth. Is it livable?

In fact, to qualify as a potentially life-worthy planet, a planet must be relatively small (and therefore rocky). Then the planet must also orbit in the habitable or “Goldilocks” zone of its star.

More importantly, there are locations where water can exist in liquid form on the planet. As telescope technology improves, other factors will also be taken into consideration, such as the composition of the planet’s atmosphere and how active its host star is.

Even though nothing is as habitable as Earth, there are at least several planets that are similar to Earth. The following is a list quoted from the page Space.

10 Planets Most Like Earth:

1. GLYSE 667CC

Located only 22 light years from EarthMeasures 4.5 times larger than EarthEstimated to be located in the habitable zone

2. KEPLER-22B

Located 600 light years from Earth, the first Kepler planet to be discovered in the habitable zone of its parent star. It is 2.4 times the size of the planet Earth. Orbits a class G star like our Sun, but this star is smaller and cooler than Earth.

3. KEPLER-69C

About 2,700 light years away About 70 percent larger than EarthThe planet is in the habitable zone

4. KEPLER-62F

About 40 percent larger than Earth. Located in the habitable zone. 1,200 light years from Earth.

5. KEPLER-186F

It is at most 10 percent larger than Earth. It is in the habitable zone of its star. It is located about 500 light years from Earth.

6. KEPLER-442B

33 percent larger than Earth. Located 1,194 light years from Earth

7. KEPLER-452B

Measuring 60 percent larger than EarthKepler-452 is very similar to our sunOrbiting in the habitable zone.Located 1,400 light years from Earth

8. KEPLER-1649C

Orbiting in the habitable zone of its star

Kepler-1649c is located 300 light years from Earth. It is 1.06 times larger than Earth.

9. THE NEXT CENTURY B

Located only four light years from Earth (closest to Earth among others) Has a mass of 1.27 times the mass of Earth. Can be found in the habitable zone of its star

10. TRAPPIST-1E

Once discovered in the habitable zone of a single star, this planetary system consists of seven worlds. The water on most of these planets was likely evaporated early in the system’s formation.

So, those are a series of Earth-like planets that scientists have discovered.
