[앵커]

Iran, known as the ‘country of the desert’, is experiencing inconvenience in daily life due to unusually cold weather and a lot of snow.

In addition, even though natural gas reserves are the second largest in the world, there was an emergency due to a lack of heating fuel.

Because of the falling snow, you can’t even see an inch in front of you.

Among the cars that walk tortoise, only the snow removal vehicle that sprinkles sand is busy.

Citizens armed with thick winter clothes.

This is an unfamiliar morning landscape in Iran, the ‘country of the desert’.

Still, the children who found the snow-covered playground are just having fun.

The capital, Tehran, has ordered all schools closed.

Government offices made half of their employees work, and private companies only made one-third work.

Tehran, where the temperature rarely drops below freezing even in the middle of winter, is shrunken by heavy snowfall and freezing cold.

A bigger problem is heating.

Even though natural gas reserves are the second largest in the world, heating fuel is in short supply, especially in the central and northern regions.

This is because facilities and transportation facilities are outdated due to long-term sanctions from the West, and technology and manpower are insufficient.

The Iranian Meteorological Administration predicts that cold and heavy snow will continue for the time being, and heating concerns are likely to increase.
