On Tuesday afternoon, May 19, 2020, a truck was parked in the emergency lane of Bundesstraße 9 without any protection. The driver had parked there in order to comply with his prescribed driving time break. However, this should be longer than he expected. Because during the inspection, the officers of the ZVD Rheinpfalz heavy traffic control team of the Neustadt police department found that not only was parking prohibited, the man with the driver’s license he had handed out was also not allowed to drive to the unhappily chosen parking space. His driving license illegally obtained abroad is not to be recognized. After brief investigations, the police were also able to prove that the wrongdoer had made numerous other trips without a valid driver’s license. For the time being, the professional driver will not be allowed to resume the journey. The wrong choice of parking space resulted in criminal charges.

A Moldovan who was checked in a pickup truck as the passenger of a scrap dealer on Monday, May 18, 2020 did not look like a tourist in his dirty work clothes. However, he only had permission to stay for tourist purposes. He was not allowed to work – especially not illegal. The officers of the heavy traffic control team won this suspicion, however, in view of the diesel tanks and suction hoses carried along and the contradicting statements of the two men. After the officials had established that the alleged tourist had apparently already transferred several thousand euros of illegally obtained money to his home country in the past few weeks, they confiscated a further 1000 euros of cash carried with him as part of the profit skimming. In addition, the Moldovan should deposit several hundred euros to secure the criminal proceedings now being conducted against him for illegal residence. In order to prevent him from continuing to commit serious administrative offenses and criminal offenses, measures to terminate his stay were initiated in consultation with the immigration authorities. The man has to leave the country immediately.
