Police in Mönchengladbach
Mönchengladbach, Viersen, Tönisvorst (ots)
A 57-year-old man suddenly attacked a 67-year-old neighbor on the street in the Vorst district on Saturday, October 3rd, 2020, around 7:00 p.m. and seriously injured him with knife wounds.
Witnesses had become aware of the injured’s cries for help and watched the 57-year-old beating, kicking and stabbing his victim. They got the perpetrator to let go of the victim.
Ambulance and police were on duty. The 67-year-old man was admitted to hospital for inpatient treatment. The police arrested the accused in his home without resistance.
A homicide squad from Mönchengladbach police headquarters has started the criminal investigation.
The 57-year-old was brought before a judge at the Krefeld District Court today. An arrest warrant was issued for attempted manslaughter.
