On Saturday morning, at 1:20 a.m., a 20-year-old woman from Renningen parked her VW Golf in the slipway area of ​​the Wallhausen marina and moved away from her vehicle. Although the woman had applied the handbrake, the car started to move and sank almost completely in Lake Constance. A passer-by watched the events and alarmed the Constance police. A short time later, rescue workers, the fire brigade and the DLRG arrived. The VW Golf was initially opened for inspection by divers from the DLRG and the fire brigade. There were no more people in the vehicle and it was found that the handbrake had actually been applied. The fire brigade was then able to pull the vehicle ashore using the winch. Operating fluids did not get into Lake Constance. The amount of damage cannot yet be quantified.
