Ever since we joined the Ministry of Economy and Industry – we have been trying to make a comprehensive overview of the dams in Bulgaria around the clock. There was no institution in the country that could say how many dams there are, whose property they are, for what money and in what condition.
This was commented by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Industry Cornelia Ninova during the parliamentary control tonight, Maritsa reported.
There are 6,844 dams in Bulgaria. One owns the water, the other the wall. First problem. See how the property is distributed: 4,962 are municipal, 719 in the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Economy and Industry – 499, other property – unclear, plus dams of the Ministry of Defense. 144 are privately owned. Ministry of Energy – 38 pieces. State property – 13 pieces.
I have just presented you the first problem – 8 types of dam owners, Ninova pointed out. According to her, a register of dams in Bulgaria is being prepared to know how many they are, whose property they are and what their condition is.
