The police had to cope with numerous weather-related missions on Monday. Due to the storm, several cellars were full and streets were flooded, especially in Neckarsulm and Heilbronn. There were also several traffic accidents. In the afternoon there was an accident on the A81 near Untergruppenbach. The driver of a Mercedes was driving in the direction of Würzburg when, due to aquaplaning, he initially skidded and then off the road. The S-Class hit the guardrail and finally came to a stop in the opposite direction of travel. The driver was uninjured, but his car was totaled around 20,000 euros. In the opposite direction, the accident occurred a few hours later. A 27-year-old was driving her Mercedes on the autobahn. Presumably because the woman had not adjusted the speed of her car to the weather conditions, her car skidded and hit the guardrail. The property damage to the vehicle amounts to around 10,000 euros. The woman was unharmed. There was also a crash on Autobahn 6 near Bad Rappenau in the evening. A 42-year-old was driving his car, also a Mercedes, in the direction of the Weinsberger Kreuz when his car skidded in heavy rain. The Mercedes collided with the concrete crash barrier. The Mercedes had to be towed away, causing damage of around 2,000 euros. Only a few minutes and kilometers later, the smart of a 27-year-old overturned in the rain. The man lost control of his car between the Bad Rappenau and Heilbronn Untereisesheim junctions, probably due to aquaplaning, and skid. The Smart then turned once on its own axis before colliding with a delineator post on the edge of the road. The car then rolled down a slope, overturned and finally came to a halt on the passenger side. The 27-year-old was uninjured. The Smart resulted in a total write-off of around 5,000 euros. During the night there was another accident in Neckarsulm due to the weather. Due to the heavy rain, a manhole cover had been raised in Hafenstrasse. The driver of a truck probably did not notice this and drove over it. The axle and the oil pan of the truck were damaged by the raised cover. The fire brigade came to the scene of the accident to deal with the leaking operating materials.
Eppingen: two injured after an accident
Two people were injured in an accident near Eppingen on Monday morning. A 79-year-old was driving her Peugeot on the 1110 road around 11.30 a.m. and wanted to join the B293 at the junction with Eppingen West. The senior citizen probably overlooked the fact that a 29-year-old was already waiting in his Mercedes at the junction and collided with it. The Mercedes was pushed onto the main road by the force of the impact and there collided with a Nissan driving in the direction of Bretten. After the first impact, the Peugeot also hit the B293 and hit the trailer of a semitrailer that was in the left-turn lane in front of the junction. The 79-year-old and the 29-year-old suffered minor injuries in the accident. The accident caused damage to the four vehicles that the police estimated at over 20,000 euros.
Heilbronn: near miss under the influence of drugs – wanted driver of gray VW Tiguan
The driver of a gray VW Tiguan narrowly escaped an accident last Friday evening. A police patrol observed the 26-year-old driver of a BMW on Heilbronn’s Paulinenstrasse at around 6:20 p.m. Before the junction with Schaeuffelenstrasse, the young man accelerated his car with a jerk, ignoring the gray Tiguan’s right of way. Both drivers could only prevent an accident by counter-steering and braking hard. The driver of the BMW was then subjected to an inspection. The officers noticed signs that he was using narcotics. The test that was then carried out reacted positively to THC, which is why the 26-year-old had to accompany the police car crew to a hospital to have blood drawn. Ilsfeld: Child injured while cycling
Probably without paying attention to the flowing traffic, an 11-year-old cycled on the Ilsfelder Brückenstraße on Monday morning. The boy was caught by the VW of a 46-year-old and seriously injured. Rescue workers took the child to a hospital. Damage to the VW and the bike amounted to around 1,500 euros.
Neckarsulm / Pfaffenhofen: tractor driver injured
In the Heilbronn district, the drivers of two tractors were injured on Monday. In the morning, a 24-year-old was driving on a field path near Neckarsulm with his agricultural machine. The man wanted to turn his vehicle in a green area, but started sliding due to the damp ground. The tractor overturned and slid down a vineyard. This resulted in damage to the vehicle amounting to almost 5,000 euros. The driver was taken to a clinic with minor injuries. In the afternoon, a 38-year-old tractor driver was injured in Pfaffenhofen. The man was driving his vehicle and trailer on the “Stettenklingenhof” street when his tractor started sliding on the wet road. The man lost control of his vehicle and hit his head so badly on the roll bar that he had to be treated by rescue workers. There was no property damage.
