45468 MH city center: Due to two demonstrations and one event, major traffic disruptions occurred today (October 29) in areas of Mülheim city center, especially around the Mülheim town hall. Police officers accompanied and secured the peaceful demonstration until they arrived at the Mülheim town hall. There the mountain road in the direction of the port had to be closed to vehicle traffic. While several thousand people peacefully exercised their right to demonstrate and express their opinion, the police only had to intervene in a few incidents. At first, some people intended to storm the entrance to the town hall. This could be prevented and referrals given. There were also two bottle throws in the direction of the event hall. Another advertisement was produced by police officers after a man in the parking lot on Bergstrasse, at the corner of Fährstrasse, was prevented from entering by unknown people. In the subsequent turmoil, the man is said to have been pulled out of the car and the vehicle damaged. Press representatives who happened to be present prevented further physical attacks. The suspects were found by police officers and their personal details were found.
