45476 MH.-Styrum: On the night of Sunday (July 19) around 12:45 a.m., the operations control center received several indications that there would be massive disputes within a family on Chiselstrasse. As soon as the officers arrived, the 33-year-old person came to the officers. His fists were clenched, he was very aggressive and yelled at the police. An emotional mood was clearly perceptible. When the police officers left the patrol car, the 33-year-old insulted the officers several times and yelled at them, sometimes in Serbian. A police officer told the man to stop to check his identity. This did not comply with the request and initially left the location. Suddenly he turned back to the officers, was still aggressive, screamed around and walked again with fast steps and clenched fists at a police officer. The policeman fended off an imminent attack with a targeted blow. The man was handcuffed while lying on the floor. The officers then put him on and called for an ambulance. During the police measures, the 33-year-old tried again and again to bite the intervening officers and insulted them loudly, causing residents in particular to become aware and gather on the street. An ambulance crew took the 33-year-old to a hospital because of his alcoholism. The public order office of the city of Mülheim der Ruhr appeared in the hospital and ordered that they be placed in the hospital’s psychiatry. A doctor on duty took a blood sample from the man who lived in Solingen to determine his culpability. The background to the situation is said to have been a family dispute in an apartment, in which there was a fight between the 33-year-old and his brother under the influence of alcohol. Witnesses and residents who can provide information on the dispute are asked to contact the police on 0201 / 829-0. A video of the police operation appeared on Facebook on Sunday afternoon. The police in Essen and Mülheim an der Ruhr are aware of the video. The police operation is routinely followed up. The police are investigating the 33-year-old, among other things, on suspicion of resisting law enforcement officers. / YH
