45127 E.-Stadtkern: Yesterday afternoon (December 21, around 5:00 p.m.) a suspected drug dealer (25) was arrested at the Flachsmarkt.
As early as Monday evening (December 20, around 8:00 p.m.), passers-by had pointed out several people who were behaving suspiciously when a police foot patrol on the Flachsmarkt was taking place. When they saw the officers, they ran in different directions.
During yesterday’s patrol, the officers recognized one of the men who had fled – he was again on the Flachsmarkt with two other men. With the support of the joint patrol of the public order office and the police, the three people were intercepted and checked.
All three men, aged 22, 23 and 25, are Guineans who have been reported to the police several times for drug-related offences.
Because the 25-year-old was noticeably moving his lower jaw and it could be assumed that there were narcotics in his mouth, he was asked to take off his mouth and nose protection. Instead of complying with the request, the 25-year-old pushed one of the officers to escape. However, a short time later he was caught up by a member of the security service and held until he could be tied up by a police officer. The 25-year-old spat several bags out of his mouth, which were probably packed with drugs. During the subsequent search, officers found more bags in his pants.
The public prosecutor then ordered his arrest. The other two men, who were not found to have any narcotics, were released after detection by the police./SyC
