Witnesses reported a traffic accident in Heiden on Parkstrasse on Friday evening. The damaged car was being pulled out of a mountain of snow by another vehicle, they said. The alarmed police could no longer find the person who caused the accident. A lantern was damaged in the event around 10:30 p.m. The initially stranger had left without having fulfilled his duties. Evidence from witnesses ultimately led to an 18-year-old Heidener. When the officers rang his doorbell, the fugitive said he was about to report the accident to the police. The officers found that the man’s breath smelled of alcohol. In addition, there were indications of drug use. A doctor took blood in order to be able to precisely prove the consumption of alcohol and drugs. The driver’s license was secured and criminal proceedings were initiated. The property damage from the accident is estimated at around 8,000 euros.
