On Sunday, September 5th, 2021, the control center of the Mülheim an der Ruhr professional fire brigade was reported to have had a traffic accident on the BAB 40 in the direction of Duisburg – just after the Friesenstrasse driveway, at 11:54 a.m., with two vehicles involved and three injured people. With the deployment keyword VU3, the control center dispatched the rescue train, as well as the rescue and command service personnel to the deployment site. When the emergency services arrived, the police were already there. The people involved in the accident were immediately taken care of by the rescue service and examined by the emergency doctor present. An injured person was transported to a Duisburg hospital. The other people involved in the accident remained at the scene of the accident. The fire brigade’s measures were limited to securing the scene of action, ensuring fire protection and picking up leaking operating materials. After about 60 minutes, the scene was handed over to the police to record the accident. During the entire duration of the mission, there were considerable traffic disruptions on the BAB 40 in the direction of Duisburg. (TTü)
